Photographer Shirley Sanderson is pleased to announce “Wild,” an exhibit of her nature and wildlife photographs at the Orinda Library, Orinda, California, during the month of February.
Three other exhibitors will be showing their work at the gallery at the same time: Carla W Gelbaum, (Paintings and Prints), Joan Ibarolle (Ceramics), and Cynthia Whitchurch (Handcrafted Fused & Stained Glass). There should be some art that will be of interest to everyone.
Please join us at an artists’ reception on Sunday, February 8, at 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. White wine, other beverages, and light snacks will be served. If you can’t make it then, we hope you can drop by on another day.
The Orinda Library is open Mon – Thu: 10 – 8; Fri – Sat: 10 – 6; and Sun: 1 – 5. The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, President’s Day.
27 photographs will be exhibited that were taken on safaris and expeditions over a period of 10 years. Many are of animals whose conservation status is endangered or threatened. Shirley hopes that showing these photographs will bring more public awareness to these threats, and help bring about solutions that will ensure their continued existence in the wild.
All proceeds from the sale of the photographs will go to Wilderness Trust by way of Resources First Foundation. Resources First Foundation describes its relationship with Wilderness Trust as follows:
“Resources First Foundation is proud to serve as the U.S. Foundation for Wilderness Wildlife Trust and their conservation and education programs in southern Africa. No other organisation, non-profit or for profit, does as good a job for conservation in Africa. Wilderness Trust protects over 7 million acres of wildlife habitat and involves all the local African communities in their projects and business.”
We look forward to seeing you at the reception.
